Disney with a Baby Part II

Crazy Day 4

Ok...so this one starts at Animal Kingdom and takes us on a exciting tour of Disney.  This park is nice and shaded.  We tried to start with the Jungle Safari, but it was having some issues so they closed it for a while.  We made our way through the park and came on the Kali River Rapids which we all were excited to ride.  I had ridden this type before and knew there was a possibility of getting wet. What I didn't know what that we were all going to get drenched. After this ride we all bought new clothes.  Once we dried out we went around to the Dinosaur Ride.  I sat that one out with g, and we enjoyed a kiddie area right around the corner.  G got his first try at a ride exactly like dumbo only it was dinosaurs.   He was pretty scared, but overall tolerated it.  We all met back up and the litte kids played at the boneyard playground with the grandparents and the big kids went to ride Everest. I was so scared to ride this, but I knew I wanted the experience.  By the time we went up and down, back and forth for 3 minutes, I was crying.  I am glad I did it, but the Rockin' Rollercoaster in my opinion was much better.  Since we conquered this, we decided to get lunch at a pizzeria.  This was probably my favorite quick service meal.  After lunch the Safari was back up and running.  This was the best entire family event of the whole trip.  Everyone, including g, loved it.  We made one last stop at the Baby Station for a diaper change. This was a great baby station.  It had many high chairs, microwaves, changing tables, nursing rooms, a place to run around, etc.  I highly recommend this over a bathroom change.  Also, it had items to purchase...diapers, wipes, sudafed, sunscreen, tylenol, etc.  I think they use huggies products.

Now, back to the bus to the transfer station - hop on the monorail and enter the Magic Kingdom.  We wanted to go back here to hit fantasyland and toontown.  We also missed the Country Bear Jamboree (which hasn't changed since my first time there).  G and Spencer absolutely loved this old hokey show. Mom and Kelley missed there Dole Whip in Adventureland that they remembered from years ago -- still just as yummy as ever.  We hit all the classics this time: It's a Small World, Pooh, Peter Pan and All of the Toon Town Fair. We then caught the train to dash the the front of the park so we could make our final transfer to epcot.  That's right we tackled 3 parks in 1 day.  We had one more ride in Epcot, Test Track.  I set this one out with g since he had not taken a nap (except for in the stroller).  My parents wanted to ride the one in the ball at epcot. G actually fell asleep in it.  Come to think of it, it was pretty boring.  We all met up for the best meal of the trip at Chefs de France in the French section of Epcot.  It was so delicious.

Returning home: Once again we used the magical express.  We just checked our bags at our hotel and they sent them to the airport without our worry.  We were then shuttled off with plenty of time to make our flight and return home.

Baby notes:
  • If the Birhnbaum book says it is scary, it probably is
  • Make sure your child gets a real nap if he usually takes on
  • pack plenty of sunscreen
  • utilize the baby stations
  • take an easy collapsable stroller for the transfers
  • take a changing pad or I liked using disposable changing pads for diaper changes
  • do the playhouse disney stage show
